Mr Darcy Loses the Plot

Share
Jane Austen sits writing, her quill scurrying across the vellum. She is dreaming up Darcy, a proud, lip-curling, handsome creation in very tight pants. But then a door squeaks, a visitor approaches and Jane hastily hides her work. Mr Darcy is left dangling. Left to his own devices, he embroiders his own story line while his creator stitches her quilt. When Jane returns she finds the plot has moved on and Darcy is dancing to a different tune.

Award-winning comedy duo Lip Service explore the world of women writers, scribbling in secret or under pseudonyms, squeezing in their writing amongst the hustle and bustle of taking tea, choosing chintz and having the vapours.

LipService celebrate Jane Austen’s life 200 years on, featuring quilt work specially created by community groups for this production.

Lloyd Cole: The Retrospective Year

Share
Lloyd Cole and the Commotions Collected Recordings 1983-1989 was received so warmly, was universally acclaimed, and sold out more quickly than UMG anticipated. A second box is proposed, and work has begun. Spanning 1989 – 1996 – Lloyd Cole’s first four solo albums, the lost fifth album, plus rarities and videos.

With so much focus on these early songs Lloyd Cole decides to devote 2016 to the celebration and promotion of the box sets. All performances this year will feature material from 1983 – 1996 only.

Between the archival box set work, day to day clerical duties and press release composition LC claims also to be working on new songs for a 2017 album release.
