Mark Watson: The Infinite Show

Cluster-bombed with yoghurt on Taskmaster, half-killed on Bear Grylls’ Celebrity Island, Mark Watson returns to what he’s best at: being indoors.
Inspired by the mostly alarming state of the world his children are growing up in, and a genuine, urgent desire to do something about it, this show is about empathy. 99 percent of the world’s population is made up of other people: why can’t we understand them? As scrawny and impassioned as ever, one of the UK’s most beloved and thinnest acts offers some suggestions, with his usual notoriously high joke-and-rant-per-minute rate.

£19 plus booking fee. Booking fee is £1 per ticket online/phone.

Avenue Q

Southport Theatre at the Waterfront, The Promenade , Southport PR9 0DZ
Avenue Q is part flesh, part felt and all heart. It's the laugh out loud show that’s had sell out runs on Broadway, in the West End and all across the UK and now you can see what all the fuzz is about at Southport Theatre at the Waterfront. This cheekily charming musical tells the story of the loveable (and unforgettable) characters on a downtown New York street trying to make sense of life’s burning issues – like what do you do with a BA in English? How do you find your purpose? And is the internet really just for…nevermind. Packed with mischief, bad behavior and a little political incorrectness, AVENUE Q is truly the musical like no other - so don’t let your life suck, book your tickets today! Created by Jeff Marx and Robert Lopez (Co-creator of BOOK OF MORMON and writer of the songs for Disney’s FROZEN). From the producers of Footloose, Flashdance and American Idiot. Avenue Q has not been authorised or approved by the Jim Henson Company or Sesame Workshop, which have no responsibility for its content. This production is by arrangement with Music Theatre International (Europe) Ltd., London.

Jason Byrne Wrecked but ready

Southport Theatre at the Waterfront, The Promenade ,Southport, PR9 0DZ
The King of The Southport Comedy Festival returns for a 6th year with a brand-new show, Wrecked But Ready. After 23 consecutive years Jason is wrecked but he is as ever ready (which is a battery, but he’s more Duracell than Eveready).

In particular the past year has been extremely testing for the wrecked Jason, but despite all this is he’s waiting to spill it out on stage. No one show is the same, expect all the usual spontaneous fun, come along and witness ‘the outright King of live comedy’ The Times

As seen on ‘Live at the Apollo’ (BBC1), ‘The Royal Variety Show’ (ITV1), ‘Don’t Say It bring It’ (Dave), ‘Wild Things’ (Sky) and recently seen judging ‘Ireland’s Got Talent’ (TV3). He’s truly ‘unmissable’ (Evening Standard) and “Consistently brilliant” (The Metro)

Jimmy’s brand new show contains jokes about all kinds of terrible things. Terrible things that might have affected you or people you know and love. But they’re just jokes - they are not the terrible things. Having political correctness at a comedy show is like having health and safety at a rodeo. Now you’ve been warned, buy a ticket.

Dr John Cooper Clarke , the Luckiest Man Alive

Southport Theatre at the Waterfront, The Promenade , Southport, PR9 0DZ
Britain’s best loved and most important performance poet, John Cooper Clarke is as vital now as he was in the '70s. His biting, satirical, political and very funny verse, delivered in a unique rapid-fire performance style, resonated with the punk movement and he toured with all the seminal bands, from The Sex Pistols to The Clash, until he soon began to draw large crowds in his own right. John Cooper Clarke is as relevant and vibrant as ever, and his influence just as visible on pop culture. His influence can also be heard in the satirical and keen social observations of artists such as Plan B and the Arctic Monkeys. As well as his regular TV appearances on the likes of Have I Got News For You, Never Mind The Buzzcocks, Would I Lie To You and 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown, John also host 6 Music shows and his own BBC Radio 4 Show 'John Cooper Clarke Live at the BBC'.

There will be a support act prior to Romesh's appearance for 20 mins. Parental Guidance: likely to be swearing and adult content.
