Language courses

Sefton Community Learning Services offer a range of first steps language courses throughout the academic year. Further opportunities for learners to progress to next steps programmes of learning are planned accordingly. The courses are aimed at adults over the age of 19 who wish to gain a basic understanding of other languages.

Introduction to Sign Language
This course is designed to enable students to acquire a basic ability to communicate with deaf people using sign language. It also aims to provide students with information about deaf people, the deaf community and deaf culture.

Holiday Spanish
The course is for anyone who would like to learn the basics of the Spanish language. It will also provide a basic introduction to Spanish culture.

Intermediate Spanish
The course is designed as continuation / progression from the previous course and will require the learner to have some basic knowledge of Spanish. It will also provide a basic introduction to Spanish culture.

Introduction to Conversational German
For those who want to learn the basics of the German language. It will also provide a basic introduction to German culture.
