Maths and English courses

Maths and English skills are vital for adults to participate fully in everyday life. With Sefton Community Learning Service (SCLS) you can access a range of English, Maths and ESOL courses, from beginners up to GCSE level.  Some courses may lead to further courses and qualifications.

Before you start a maths, English or ESOL course you will have a short assessment, this will make sure you are on the right course for your level.

Introduction to English Skills

These courses are designed as an introduction to English skills you may use in the workplace and everyday life. They range from complete beginners to GCSE level in skills. Learner can progress onto qualification courses. 

English Functional Skills Levels 1 and 2

These are courses designed to help learners learn new skills and gain a Functional skills qualification that are suitable for employment and further/ higher education. 

Support you children with Literacy Homework

Short 6 week courses for parents, guardians and grandparents, to give you the skills to support primary school children with their homework.

Short 6 week courses for parents, guardians and grandparents, to give you the skills to support primary school children with their homework.
