COVID-19 Vaccination Information

Resources & Information for Providers

We would like to remind everyone how important it is that we are all fully vaccinated, and that means having the booster jab too. Vaccinations still, without doubt, provide the best clinical protection for all of us against the COVID-19 virus, which is still spreading in our communities.  We ask you to speak with your staff about getting the jab/s; whether that be the first, second or booster if they are already eligible, or to keep an eye on the latest information from the Government who have said all eligible over-18s will be offered a jab by the end of January.  Whether it’s their first, second or third, booster jab, it’s never too late to get vaccinated.

There are several places in Sefton where people can get their vaccines:

Bootle Cricket Club

A local pop-up vaccination site is opening at Firwood Bootle Cricket Club this week, offering residents the chance to simply ‘walk in’ and get their first, second, or booster doses of the COVID-19 vaccine.

The site is opening up temporarily for three days as part of the NHS’ efforts to offer every adult a COVID-19 booster jab before the end of the year.

South Sefton residents aged 18 or over can simply turn up during opening hours to get their booster jab, with no appointment needed. Residents can also walk in and get their first or second dose of the vaccine if they haven’t had them already.

The COVID-19 vaccination site will be open at Firwood Bootle Cricket Club, Wadham Road, Bootle, L20 2DD, on the following dates:

  • Wednesday 22 December, 10am-4.30pm
  • Thursday 23 December, 10am-4.30pm
  • Thursday 30 December, 10am-4.30pm

Vaccination of people working or deployed in care homes: operational guidance.

From 11 November 2021, anyone working or volunteering in a care home will need to be fully vaccinated against coronavirus (COVID-19), unless exempt.

The Guidance has been produced to help support the implementation of the Health and Social Care Act 2008 (Regulated Activities) (Amendment) (Coronavirus) Regulations 2021 (‘the regulations’).

These regulations require registered persons (service providers) at all Care Quality Commission (CQC) registered care homes (which provide accommodation together with nursing or personal care) to ensure that anyone who works or volunteers in the indoor premises of that care home must demonstrate that they have been vaccinated or have an exemption.

The Operational Guidance can be found in the Related Links section on this page.
