What is an Aquathlon?

An Aquathlon consists of a continuous, two-stage race involving swimming followed by running.  Aquathlon have been around in various forms since the early 20th century and is an excellent way for novice athletes to enter the world of multisport. For experienced triathletes they can add some spice to their race programmes.

Glen Williams from Unison took part in this year's event. He had this to say:

"I just wanted to say a massive thank-you to you and to all your volunteers who made the Aquathlon (a word I only just learned how to say today!!) such a great success.

"The event was superbly well organised, friendly and just good fun. I will be honing my swimming skills and realise now that transition does not mean chatting and taking your time to recover from the trauma of swimming!!!

"Many thanks, I will get under an hour next time and am already in training for the October event.

"Great job and when I can walk again I will see you soon!!"
