At their meeting next Thursday Sefton Council’s Cabinet will be asked to approve a groundbreaking and innovative alliance to deliver over 1,000 new, social and affordable homes for local people, by 2030.
Sefton Home 2030
Committed to addressing Sefton's housing needs, the new ‘Sefton Home 2030’ partnership will see Council-owned land, including former schools and community sites, pooled with The Sovini Group's development pipeline.
First phase of up to 400 new homes
The first wave of delivery will see up to 400 homes break ground across eight sites in Bootle, Netherton, Southport, Seaforth, and Formby.
The Sovini Group, a housing solution rooted in Sefton, is also advancing plans to deliver 600 additional homes by 2030 through its own developments. They will be delivered via the Group's end-to-end supply chain.
Building futures for people across Sefton
Councillor Marion Atkinson, Leader of Sefton Council, said: “This partnership focus will be on high-quality, truly affordable homes and homes for social rent.
“But it is about more than just building homes - it’s about building futures for people across Sefton.
“There is a huge need for social and affordable housing in Sefton and by addressing that problem it will get people out of temporary accommodation and into safe, healthy homes.
"That will improve their quality of life and at the same time, it will help reduce the costs to the Council for expensive temporary accommodation”.
“We are committed to ensuring that every development delivers real value for our residents by creating jobs and training opportunities for local people, as well as social and affordable housing.”
Local opportunities and sustainability
Highlighting this local synergy, Roy Williams, Chief Executive of The Sovini Group said: "We’re proud to work alongside Sefton Council to deliver homes through the Group’s end-to-end supply chain. Collaboratively we can ensure value for money, local opportunities, and the sustainability of Sefton."
“The Sovini Group’s unique model which provides a robust housing solution, enables us to reinvest all commercial profits throughout the partnership back in Sefton – focusing on Sefton Council’s priorities and the development of more affordable homes locally.”

Key benefits of the partnership include:
