There are just days left for people who live, work, study or socialise in Sefton who identify as LGBTQIA+ to take part in Sefton Pride CIC’s survey to help understand the experiences, needs, barriers, and wellbeing.

Almost 200 have already taken part in the survey which askes for LGBTQIA+ people’s views on:

• inclusion and belonging;
• safety and discrimination
• participation in community life
• access to services and support
• physical and mental wellbeing
• Gaps in provision and opportunities for improvement

Sefton Pride founder Jen Corcoran said: "I am really pleased we have had such a good response to the survey so far.

“It’s a way of making sure LGBTQIA+ voices in Sefton are heard so that future in the future, services, initiatives and opportunities reflect the needs of our community.

“So, if you haven’t done so already, make sure you have your say before the survey closes on Wednesday 30th September.

When the survey was launched in July, Dr Rory McGill, Sefton Council’s Director of Public Health, said: “In the past we have struggled to capture the views of Sefton’s LGBTQ+ residents, so this survey is a great opportunity to find out more from people in that community.  

“Findings from the survey will help guide public health planning and the ways we can help ensure equality. 

“We really want to hear from people in Sefton’s LGBTQ+ community as their feedback will shape how we commission services, develop communities and ensure our policies are inclusive for everyone in Sefton.”
