My Sefton News Podcast offers triple treat this Halloween

29 October 2026 3min read

Three brand new episodes of the My Sefton News Podcast have come out this week, including two 'deep-dive' special editions.

The podcast, which is hosted and put together entirely in-house by Sefton Council staff, began in August.

A new episode goes out every fortnight – but there are a couple of extra treats in store for this Halloween week.

The joy of six

Listeners can enjoy Episode Six of the regular podcast, where hosts Martin and Ed introduce a range of topics.

As well as explaining how people can access flu vaccinations, the podcast covers Keep Warm, Keep Well events for older residents, Active Sefton's Be Active Guide and more.

That episode is available through Amazon Music, Apple Podcasts and Spotify – as are the two one-off editions.

Extra, extra, hear all about it

First, hear from Jess and Neil, who discuss the Council's Community Assets Process. They talk about the exciting opportunities for local groups to breathe new life into facilities with untapped potential.

Our second episode focuses on the ongoing battle against fly-tipping. Nicky and Kevin join the podcast hosts to chat about Fight Fly Tipping Fortnight, the Council's work alongside Merseyside Fire and Rescue and Merseyside Police on 'Operation Banger', and huge investment into making our streets cleaner.

They also explain how to avoid a 'rubbish deal' by paying unlicensed waste carriers and that a deal that's too good to be true...probably is.

Either find the podcast episodes online, through apps, or by asking your smart speaker to play the My Sefton News Podcast.
