Salt and Tar named finalist for ‘Live Event of the Year’ at the 2026 LCR Culture & Creativity Awards

Bootle’s Salt and Tar has been selected by the judging panel as a finalist for Live Event of the Year at the 2026 Liverpool City Region Culture & Creativity Awards. It has been shortlisted in recognition of its growing impact and contribution to cultural life across the City Region.
Recognising outstanding live events
Established in 2019, the annual awards showcase the impressive contribution that culture, creativity, and innovation make across the Liverpool City Region. Live Event of the Year is a brand-new category for 2026. It recognises an outstanding live event that has showcased creativity and culture within the city region. The award celebrates events that demonstrate exceptional impact, audience reach and creative ambition, qualities that Salt and Tar has quickly become known for since its launch in 2023.
Almost 12,000 visitors to Bootle
Salt and Tar’s 2025 Music Weekender featured a vibrant mix of performances and community-led programming and brought almost 12,000 visitors to Bootle. Its rapid growth and strong connection with local audiences have cemented it as one of Sefton’s most exciting cultural assets.

Cllr Paulette Lappin, Sefton Council’s Cabinet Member for Regeneration, Skills and Employment, said:
