Sefton carers being invited to special free event at Ince Blundell Hall

21 May 2026 2 min read

Unpaid carers across Sefton are being invited to a special free event on Wednesday 10th June as part of Carers Week.

Chance to take a well-earned break

Taking place from 10am to 3pm at Ince Blundell Hall, the event is open to anyone who looks after a family member or friend who could not manage without their help. The day is a chance for carers to take a well-earned break and find out what support is available to them.

Visitors will be able to enjoy free light refreshments while exploring a marketplace of local organisations. These groups will be there to offer helpful advice, information and support for carers.

Guided tours

There will also be a small number of guided tours of Ince Blundell Hall available at 11am and 2pm. Places are limited, so carers are encouraged to book their place early if they would like to take part.

As an extra ‘thank you’, every carer who attends on Wednesday 10 June will receive a voucher for a free, one-night respite stay at Ince Blundell Hall. The stay will include meals and relaxing activities to help carers unwind.

Carers Week 2026

The event is part of Carers Week 2026, which celebrates the important role carers play in supporting others.

Carers can book their place by calling 0151 288 6060 or emailing help@carers.sefton.gov.uk .

Booking is required by Wednesday 27th May.

Come and have a cuppa

Sefton Carers Chief Executive, Vicky Keeley, said: We are working in partnership with Ince Blundell Hall to offer unpaid carers a break from caring for a family member with a long-term condition or terminal illness.

“Our most common request from carers is a break from the caring role. This event offers anyone with a caring role information and advice from ourselves and other organisations such as Alzheimer’s Society and Healthwatch.

“Come and have a cuppa and a look at what is on offer at the Hall. All carers who come to the event will receive a one night stay voucher with meals and activities included.”

Huge impact

A Sefton Council Spokesperson said: “We know from talking to Carers, the huge impact it has on their daily lives and wellbeing.

“This event is a chance for them to take some time for themselves, get support, and connect with others who understand their role. And to get their voucher for a free , relaxing, one-night stay at Ince Blundell Hall.”
