Sefton Council is encouraging local organisations across the Borough to apply for a fund that could net up to £30,000 for their environmental project.
The Liverpool City Region Community Environment Fund supports community-led initiatives that help tackle climate change, restore nature and create healthier, greener communities.
Groups have until midnight on Monday 30th November to apply for a grant.
Think green
Ideal projects for the fund are those that focus on the local community and meet one of the below themes:
- Climate change and resilience
- Transport and active travel
- Water sustainability
- Accessible green spaces, habitats and biodiversity
- Carbon and environmental literacy
- Energy efficiency
- Food sustainability
All eligible and established organisations, ranging from charities to schools, Friends Of groups, residents' associations and more, are invited to apply.
Smaller projects and activities would have the chance to receive a grant of between £1,000 and £4,999.
Meanwhile, larger projects with 'more substantial environmental and community benefits' could receive between £5,000 and £30,000.
Apply now
More than 100 projects across Sefton and the rest of the Liverpool City Region have benefitted from the Fund since it was set up five years ago.
More information about the LCR Community Environment Fund is available on the Liverpool City Region Combined Authority website.
