Sefton CVS is looking for a filmmaker or videographer to create a documentary celebrating the success of the Hearts of Gold project. 

Discovering local history 

Funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund, Hearts of Gold was created to mark Sefton's 50th anniversary. The project helped people discover local history, learn new skills and celebrate the unsung heroes who have made a difference in their communities. As part of the project, community heritage trails have been created in Bootle, Netherton and Formby, helping residents explore the stories, people and places that have shaped Sefton over the last 50 years. 

Capturing the projects achievements 

Sefton CVS is now inviting applications from filmmakers and videographers to produce a 10 to 15-minute documentary-style film that captures the project's achievements and lasting impact. 

The film will be led by Bootle Docker James Stewart, played by an actor, who will guide viewers along the heritage trails and share stories from local people involved in the project. 

Bringing together local history and community voices 

The successful filmmaker will work with Sefton CVS and community groups to create an engaging film that brings together local history, community voices and footage from across the borough. The finished documentary will celebrate what has been achieved through Hearts of Gold and encourage more people to explore Sefton's rich heritage.
