Pitamu: 19,287 Gyros
Cake Corner: 33,000 cakes
Italian Street Food: 13,200 Pasta dishes

The Market also boasts a butchers and an events extravaganza space for parties and live entertainment, as well as hosting pop up stalls and much more.

Cllr Paulette Lappin, Sefton Council’s Cabinet Member for Regeneration and Skills, said: “I am quickly running out of superlatives for how good Southport Market is.

“When we first announced the transformation of the market to a food and drink offer from its traditional roots there were of course going to be a small number of people who cast doubt on its success.

“I think we can safely put those doubts to bed now as we get ready to cut Cake Corner’s delicious birthday cake for our third year.

“My thanks must go to our traders and market staff first and foremost. They work very hard to keep our thousands of visitors well fed, watered and entertained five days a week.

“We are constantly upgrading, refining and improving our offer at Southport Market and if you haven’t already tried it, what on earth are you waiting for?”
