Review of sole occupier discount
We have been reviewing current entitlements to sole occupier discount on council tax.
Review now closed
We recently completed a review of council tax accounts with sole occupier discount. This review is now closed.
If you were receiving sole occupier discount on your council tax bill, you may have received a letter regarding a review of your entitlement. This review was carried out to ensure that council tax discounts are accurate, as changes in personal circumstances are not always reported.
The review was managed by NEC Software Solutions, who work closely with local authorities on council tax and in other areas.
What happens now?
If you did not respond to your letter or reminder within the required timeframe, you may have received a subsequent letter informing you that your sole occupier discount had been removed from your council tax account.
If your discount has been removed and you are the only person over 18 in your household, you will need to apply for sole occupier discount again.
