How Technology Enabled Care can help you

Introduction to Technology Enabled Care

A person using digital equipment

Technology Enabled Care (TEC) includes equipment and technology that help adults stay independent. It covers telehealth, telecare, telemedicine, telecoaching, and self-care services, allowing people to manage their health and wellbeing.

Benefits of TEC

  • Increases independence and confidence.
  • Manages or minimizes risk.
  • Supports and reassures family carers.
  • Reduces the need for a care package.
  • Prevents hospital admissions.
  • Supports early hospital discharge.
  • Delays or prevents the need for residential care.

Sefton's TEC team

The TEC team offers guidance, training, and advice to residents and professionals. The Council can loan assistive technology to support your independence and safety, which may have a charge. They also provide reassurance and support for family members.

Our services:

  • Prevent, reduce and delay the need for formal care services.
  • Support informal carers.
  • Help communities build resilience.

How can TEC make life easier?

TEC can be a lifeline, especially for older adults, people with disabilities, or those with illnesses. It includes personalised sensors and apps that support fitness, health, care, and wellbeing. TEC can:

  • Alert others if you need help, like after a fall.
  • Allow you to control your home environment.
  • Keep you connected to friends, family, and your community.
