Sefton is home to a wealth of events and attractions including the Grand National steeplechase at Aintree, Antony Gormley’s Another Place artwork on Crosby beach, and Royal Birkdale Golf Club – a regular Open Championship venue.
The borough has 22 miles of coastline - home to golden beaches, rolling sand dunes, rare wildlife and a range of flowers and plants.
One of Britain’s last remaining native red squirrel populations can be found in the coastal woodland at Formby. The delightful creatures are always a hit with visitors.
In the north of the borough lies the seaside town of Southport – famous for its beaches, world-class golf, superb choice of restaurants, family attractions and a vibrant events programme.
Sefton Council, along with local authorities across Merseyside, is calling for members of the public to remain vigilant and continue to stay home as much as possible, in light of national changes to the UK’s Coronavirus response.
