Local tips and recycling centres

Recycling centreHousehold waste recycling centres  across Sefton Borough are now open.

Along with its contractor Veolia, Merseyside Recycling and Waste Authority is implementing clear operating guidelines to ensure the safety of users and hard-working staff.

Traffic management plans are in place and the following restrictions apply at all sites:

  • sites are open 8.00 am – 8.00 pm every day.

  • the number of vehicles allowed on site at any one time is limited, which means queuing times will be significantly longer.

  • cars only – no vans, commercial-type vehicles or large trailers.

  • one person per vehicle (NB. Blue Badge holders will be able to be accompanied by one family member).

  • social distancing of at least 2 metres is  being strictly enforced.

  • site employees cannot be able to assist with unloading.

People going to the Formby or Sefton Meadows Recycling Centres will need to make an appointment by submitting their name, address and vehicle registration either through www.merseysidewda.gov.uk or by calling 0151 236 0305.
