Families: Targeted Support

Families: Targeted Support

Family targeted support sessions offer a range of help, guidance and support for parents and families who have been referred by a professional. They aim to provide an open atmosphere where parents can develop new skills and strengthen family relationships through tailored support from our hub staff and partnering professionals.

Find out more about some of our sessions below

This is a 1-1 parent course (with children aged 2-10) which aims to strengthen parenting skills by developing techniques to support positive child behaviour by focusing on play, interaction, praise, and rewards. The session supports parenting techniques of effective limit setting, consequence and problem solving. It aims to increase children’s social skills and emotional language, as well as your relationship with your child.

Sessions take place at Marie Clarke Family Hub. Click here to see their timetable.

The programme is suitable for males using harmful and abusive behaviours within the family unit. Sessions are designed using a Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) model which seeks to provide men with understanding and insight into domestically abusive behaviours, and how these impact on children and their mother. Sessions last for 2 hours.

Family Hubs are here to provide you with the practical tools needed to create a positive family environment. Our targeted family sessions help you to do this through specialist support and expert advice, and provide you with opportunities to connect with other parents facing similar challenges. See our timetable for more targeted family sessions.
