Recruitment and Retention in Sefton
Sefton Early Years Team recognise that high quality Early Years staff are key to ensuring positive outcomes for children. We also recognise that this is the biggest barrier in being able to meet our statutory sufficiency duty.
The team support recruitment and retention by:
- Organising and attending Early Years and Childcare Careers events to raise the profile of careers working with children.
- Work with local high schools to promote careers.
- Close partnerships work with Sefton at Work, career connect and the Jobcentre to encourage clients to consider a career in the sector.
- New to EYFS course for new employees.
- Partnership with local colleges and training providers, providing sessions to enhance student experience and share information.
- Managing the Department of Education's Financial Incentive Pilot Programme. Please note local and national criteria applies.
