Living Safe and Well at Home

Staying healthy at home helps you maintain your independence and wellbeing. Whether you need care, are disabled, or need support as you get older it’s important to live an active and fulfilling life while staying safe at home.

Why is This Important?

Living safely at home helps you stay independent and reduces hospital visits. Many falls at home, a common reason for hospital admissions among older people, can be prevented with home-based exercises and small home modifications.

How to Stay Safe and Well at Home

  • Services and Support: Access the right services, support, equipment, and technology to live and age well.
  • Telecare: 24-hour monitoring systems with a pendant button to call for help.
  • Voluntary Organisations: Offer information, advice, and activities for all ages and interests.
  • Community Groups: Provide practical help around the home, shopping, or gardening.
