Petitions for Elected Mayoral referendums

By law the Council has to say how many people have to sign a petition for there to be a vote on whether the Metropolitan Brough of Sefton should have an elected mayor.

The minimum number of signatures, being 5% of the people allowed to vote in a Borough Council election, based on the Electorate  on the 15 February 2024 is 10,592

If you have any questions about petitions for an elected mayor, please contact Electoral Services at electors@sefton.gov.uk
