Further Education

Young people must participate in learning or training up to at least the age of 18.

How to access advice

Impartial guidance is provided in schools by its Independent Adviser and School Careers Teacher. Your school will have access to many additional online resources and websites that can support you when considering your future.

If you are 16 – 18 years old and not accessing education or training you can get information, advice and guidance on a number of opportunities to progress your education or career plans from Career Connect - Sefton Council’s careers information, advice and guidance service.

You can find out about Apprenticeships, Traineeships, and all Study Programmes in schools, colleges and training providers. If you are in employment but without access qualifications please contact us.

If you are in learning but unsure you are choosing the right option for you, talk to your tutors and student services first but if you need additional help please contact Career Connect.

Call our specialist team to talk to an adviser who can help you make sense of things.  Call on 0151 944 6100 to request a call back or email

You can also visit the Career Connect website or follow Career Connect Sefton on Facebook.
