Key Responsibilities:
As the Principal Educational Psychologist, you will be responsible for:

Strategic Leadership: Provide clear and effective strategic leadership and operational management for the Educational Psychology Service, ensuring high-quality psychological advice and support to schools and settings across Sefton.

Team Building: Take charge of recruiting, developing, and retaining a high-calibre team of Educational Psychologists, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth.

Collaboration: Work in partnership with schools, health commissioners, other agencies, and settings to promote inclusive practices and effective intervention strategies.

Statutory Duties: Oversee the provision of statutory advice in line with the Special Educational Needs and Disability Code of Practice (0-25 years), including complex case work and representing the council at SEN Tribunals.

Quality Assurance: Ensure the EPS complies with professional ethics and competencies, maintaining high standards of service delivery and effectiveness.

Safeguarding: Promote the welfare and safeguarding of children and young people, ensuring that protective measures and risk management protocols are in place and followed.
About You:
We are looking for a leader who is committed to making a difference, with:

Experience: A proven track record as a Senior Educational Psychologist, including experience in leading and supervising a team and working in partnership with various agencies.

Skills: Strong people management and leadership abilities, exceptional communication skills, and a dedication to promoting inclusive practices.

Qualifications: Professional postgraduate qualifications in Educational Psychology and active registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).

Knowledge: In-depth understanding of SEND legislation, statutory requirements, safeguarding policies, and strategic planning frameworks.
