Achievements
2024 – 2025
Over the past year the partnership has made great strides in working together to understand local need in relation to drugs across the priorities, ambitions and outcomes in the strategy.
Some of our achievements have included:
Lower My Drinking Campaign
Dedicated funding to promote the Lower My Drinking campaign which has been commissioned by the Champs Public Health Collaborative to help people across Cheshire and Merseyside to better manage their drinking.
Harm reduction
Collaboration with local partners to respond to concerns regarding the use of nitrous oxide and Ketamine amongst young people. Posters have been designed and displayed around key hotspots in Sefton to highlight harm reduction messages and signpost to drug and alcohol services.
Service Campaign
In April 2025 Sefton’s Public Health Team supported CGL’s recent campaign to promote substance misuse services for adults and parents living in Southport. Launched on 31st March, the campaign utilised a mix of digital, social media images to maximise visibility across the community.
CDP Annual in person meeting
On 18th June, Sefton CDP hosted its annual in-person event, bringing together partners and stakeholders for a day of discussion and forward planning. Partners reviewed the current Local Delivery Plan and engaged in discussions around key priorities for the new work plan, which will align with the national priorities set out by the Combating Drugs Partnership for 2025–2028.
Operation trespass – Merseyside Police response to cuckooing
The Combating Drugs Partnership actively supported and promoted Merseyside Police’s cuckooing campaign, helping to raise awareness of this serious form of exploitation.
