1-2-1 Programme

1-2-1 Programme

The 1-2-1 programme supports young people with their health and well-being. Our Development Officers act as mentors, delivering weekly physical activity sessions to give the young person a positive boost in their life, increasing their self-esteem and building confidence. The programme is designed to be bespoke to the needs of the individual and we work with them to find a suitable and sustainable physical activity, to continue to reap the benefits of being physically active long after the programme has finished.

  • An initial meeting will be held for the young person (usually at one of our Leisure Centres, although it can be held at a Family Health and Well-being centre, School, or Library) and they must be accompanied by a responsible adult, which can be a family member or staff member from supporting agency.
  • The meeting is designed to explore the young person’s interests and decide what the most suitable activity programme is for the forthcoming sessions.
  • Sessions will be up to an hour long and held on a weekly basis for a period of 6-12 weeks dependent on the needs and progress of the young person.

Young people need to be referred into the programme and this can be done by family member, staff member from a supporting agency, school member of staff or the young person themselves. You can fill in a referral form on the Active Lifestyles website
