Nominations criteria


Presented to an individual who has made a significant contribution behind the scenes to their sport / club / school. Club officer, committee member, fundraiser, administrator, coach, or official.

  1. Details of commitment given in the position and the organisation (100 words)

  3. Outcomes, e.g. Set up a new activity (100 words)
  4. Responsibility – umpire, team manager etc. (100 words)

  6. Evidence of attendance of workshops, courses to widen knowledge (200 words)

3 Categories: Jnr Sports Personality U18; Sefton Sports Personality; Disabled Sports Personality

Presented to an individual in recognition of their commitment and achievement to their chosen sport. Nominees should have achieved a high standard of performance for example at local, regional and national standard.

  1. Achievements – from participation to performance, taking into consideration any barriers up to present date (100 words)
  2. Level of achievement, local, county, national, international (100 words)
  3. Number of years involved in their sport (100 words)
  4. Dedication – hours, commitment (100 words)
  5. Further involvement in their sport-club work, coaching, officiating and volunteering (100 words)
  6. Supporting material – any comments or additional evidence outlining why the young person deserves to win the award (200 words)
  7. If your nomination is successful we will be including this section as part of the programme for the dinner. Could you please write a short paragraph summing up your nominee.

Presented to a club which:

Has a well-established management structure, can demonstrate achievement/success in the Award Year, provides a comprehensive range of activities for its members whilst supporting the development of players, coaches & volunteers of all ages and abilities.

  2. Evidence of a good Youth Policy, Child Protection Policy, and equity policy.  (200 words)
  3. Evidence of strong school / club links  (100 words)
  4. Evidence of strong community links or links with respective sports development team  (100 words)
  5. Evidence of a club development plan being used  (100 words)
  6. Evidence of volunteer recruitment, recognition and reward systems  (100 words)
  7. Coach Investment Programme (Coach Education)  (100 words)
  8. Evidence of club structure  (100 words)
  9. Achieved or working towards a recognised accreditation – e.g. Clubmark, Local club accreditation scheme or NGB accreditation.  (100 words)

Presented to a coach/ team manager in recognition of their involvement, dedication and achievement within their chosen sport. Must be a volunteer. Professional Coaches or paid coaches will be ineligible to win the award.

  2. Provide evidence of personal coaching development including level of coaching: - Club, County/Regional, National/International.  (100 words)
  3. Provide evidence of Mentoring or helping other coaches  (100 words)
  4. Provide evidence of increasing participation in sport  (100 words)
  5. Provide evidence of improving performers / team skill or performance  (100 words)
  6. Provide any further support material - any comments or additional evidence outlining why the coach deserves to win the award.  (200 words)

Presented to a team who achieved outstanding success over the year.

  1. Details of major achievements they have accomplished during the past 12 months -titles and cups won, locally, regionally and nationally.  (200 words)
  2. Evidence of improvement in performance of the team during the past 12 months, taking into account any barriers they have had to overcome.   (200 words)
  3. Evidence on how the players are committed to training and developing the younger players of the team.  (200 words)
  4. Provide any further support material - any comments or additional evidence outlining why the team deserves to win the award.

Nominations are invited for businesses committed to improving sport and physical activity participation of their workforce and within their local community. Nominations will be considered against the following criteria .

  1. Evidence of commitment to a physically active workforce including promoting opportunities to employees.  (200 words)
  2. Evidence of supporting local community sport e.g. sponsoring / supporting events, clubs and / or other organisations, including enabling their workforce to volunteer.   (200 words)
  3. Can demonstrate key achievements relating to sport and physical activity. (200 words)
  4. Provide any further support material - any comments or additional evidence outlining why the business deserves to win the award.
  5. If your nomination is successful we will be including this section as part of the programme for the dinner. Could you please write a short paragraph summing up your nominee.

 

This award is given to an innovative project (one off or ongoing) that has had an impact on the local community. This could be through increased and sustained participation in sport and physical activity e.g. providing alternative opportunities for people to get active.
