The Mayor of Sefton's charity fund is a trust that was set up to assist the people of Sefton (registered charity number: 1026227). It helps many of the smaller charitable and voluntary groups that do not have a national profile and sometimes find fundraising rather difficult because they are not well known outside of the local area in which they operate.
How to donate
If you wish to make a Donation to the current Mayor's Charity Fund, you may do so by sending a cheque to

Cheques should be made payable to: The Mayor of Sefton's Charity Fund. All donations will be acknowledged and receipted.
The charity fund has four trustees: the Mayor, the Chief Executive, Head of Corporate Resources and Chief Legal and Democratic Officer and there is a Trust Deed that is lodged with the Charity Commission. The fund is managed by The Mayoral and Civic Services Officer, Bootle Town Hall, Oriel Road, Bootle, L20 7AE.
The Charity Fund has five committees (all volunteers) that work across the Borough organising fund raising activities within their area. Application for financial assistance can alternatively be made directly to them by applying to the Chairman or Secretary of any of the committees listed below.

The committees are always looking for people to help them with their fund-raising and anyone willing to offer some spare time can approach the Chairmen of their local area. Any assistance would be gratefully received.
The money from the Fund is distributed once a year, after the Mayor's term of office. Donations are only made to those who have completed the required Application Form. These can be obtained from any of the above Committees or directly from the Mayor's Office. The amount of money donated to each applicant varies and depends on the amount raised and the decision of the Trustees.
Please note that organisations in receipt of SMBC grants are not eligible for assistance from the Mayor of Sefton's Charity Fund.
