The Met office has issued a Weather Warning covering our area, for Storm Dave which will bring very strong winds between 5pm on Saturday and 7am on Easter Sunday. As a result tonight's Cristal Palace event in Southport has been cancelled for safety reasons.

Derby Park, Bootle

Derby Park is located within 10 minutes walk from Bootle town centre.

The park was built in 1895 and is an excellent example of an urban Victorian park. It is a very important cultural asset and this has been recognised by its designation as part of the Derby Park Conservation Area and its listing on the National Register of Historic Parks and Gardens.

Its cultural significance has been further recognised by regeneration agencies and, together with the Council and Sefton Children’s Fund, £753,000 has been invested in the park to date.

Works are still ongoing at Derby Park to improve the central steps and paths. Last year young people facilities were improved, including Sefton’s largest play area and two ball courts.

Facilities

Community involvement in the park is very active. The Friends of Derby Park is made up of local residents and organisations who improve the site for the community, to be involved in this group please email the Parks team.
