Flood Investigation Reports

Under Section 19 of the Flood and Water Management Act 2010, Sefton Council, as Lead Local Flood Authority (LLFA), has a responsibility to investigate and publish reports on significant flood events in Sefton. Flood investigation reports provide an overview of the circumstances of a flood event for public record.

The reports do not include analysis of flood mechanisms or hydraulic modelling as it is not intended to provide solutions or mitigation options in relation to the event. In situations where more detailed investigation is required, we work closely with our partners such as the Environment Agency and United Utilities.
